Toyota has unveiled the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India. The Hyryder has been developed in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki and it has a unique distinction in this segment as it comes in a strong-hybrid engine option.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrder will take on Hyundai Creta. Also, Hyryder will lock horns with Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and other upcoming mid-sized SUVs.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to be priced from ₹10 lakh to ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom). While Hyundai’s Creta price starts from ₹10.44 Lakh and goes up to ₹18.18 lakh (ex-showroom).

Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be available in four trim levels - E, S, G and V. In which there are two engine options 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103HP and other 1.5-liter TNGA Atkinson Cycle petrol engine with strong-hybrid tech.

The Hyundai Creta has 1 diesel engine and 2 petrol engine options. The Diesel engine is 1493 cc while the Petrol engine is 1497cc and 1353cc. It is available with manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyryder comes with a strong-hybrid powertrain engine option which claims to deliver 26-28kmpl. While Hyundai Creta claims to deliver 16.8 to 21.4 kmpl.

Toyota has opened the bookings for the Hyryder for a token amount of ₹25,000. Bookings are officially open both at Toyota dealerships and online.
